Working with Children and Families Managing Complex Trauma and Traumatic Grief

Participants of this session with explore assisting families in our community managing complex and developmental trauma as well as the confluence of traumatic grief. Participants with gain psychoeducation on the neurobiology of complex and developmental trauma, as well as interventions, resources and support for children and families suffering from traumatic grief in our community.

Speaker Bio
Kristen Santel, LISW-S is a Level II EMDR Psychotherapist with Advanced and Master Class Training in Attachment and Somatic Psychotherapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), certified hypnotherapist with American Society of Clinical Hypnotherapy, and a Certified Trauma Specialist with the National Institute for Trauma and Loss in Children, as well as being trained in TF-CBT, CISM, and several other therapeutic modalities focusing on somatic psychotherapy and attachment. She is an adult adoptee and focuses on reparative attachment inside of adoption trauma. Kristen is the Clinical Director of Camp Lionheart, a free, week-long overnight summer grief camp for children and teens in its 13th year here in Central Ohio. Kristen has two private practices in Grandview and lives in downtown Columbus with her husband and their portly cat.
